Shared email addresses
Two (or more) people may share an email address to register with Walk Georgia. In order to register, each participant will need access to that email address in order to complete account creation (see Participant account and Team member account).
However, if a participant has a personal email address, he or she is strongly encouraged to register using his or her unique address. Care should otherwise be taken when assuming responsibility for any email messages sent to other participants (including account emails and Walk Georgia update emails) from the Walk Georgia system (see Email and privacy policy).
If you are sharing an email address with someone, you will still create a unique username during registration. After you register, you will be able to interact with the system, log your own activity, and chart your own route through Georgia.
Pay attention to any email messages from the Walk Georgia system. These may include:
- All password or account requests for each person using the email address.
- Any notification of program dates or other events in your county.
- URL prompts to specific participant information, including completion certificates and other unique information.
Note: Sharing of email addresses may be particularly useful for family members who will participate together.
